The total length of Qingdao metro line 8 is about 61.4 kilometers. There are 18 stations, including 1 elevated station and 17 underground stations.The line starts from Jiaozhou north railway station, passes through Jiaodong international airport station, Hongdao high-speed railway station, Hongdao CBD, and crosses the sea to reach Qingdao north railway station hub, after via Cangkou airport, along Zhoukou road, Nanchang road, Shandong road and Hong Kong road, and then reaches May 4th square station.
The main line connects five administrative regions, such as Jiaozhou city, Hongdao high-tech zone, Licang district, Shibei district and Shinan district, and is a fast backbone line connecting Qingdao new airport, North bank urban area and East bank urban area. It could transfer with metro lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 16 respectively.The initial opening is scheduled for 2021 year.
